On 22 November we unveiled the plaque for the Solar Heating and thanked Sue Malthus (one of our special guests) for all her hard work, and also the Rata Foundation for their contribution. The pool was 28 degrees so it was perfect timing to celebrate our solar heating.

We then congratulated Eric Peterson (our other special guest) for being made a life member of Swimming Nelson Marlborough. Eric has already received an honours and service award with SNM, so it just shows how much time he gives to the swimming community.  Congratulations again Eric and thank you for always being there for us.

Next was a congratulation to Jos. Jos received an Honours award from Swimming New Zealand! They even tricked him into coming along to their meeting in Auckland. Jos has already received a service award so this is for further outstanding service to swimming.  Congratulations and thank you Jos! I love this photo of Eric and Jos.

And lastly we thanked the Committee, especially Tarnia (Riley’s mum), for raising funds and organizing our fantastic new lane ropes. Our club raised half the funds with the two quiz nights and the two sausage sizzles. Pub Charity covered the rest of the funds! This also covered the cost of the reel to be spruced up and a new reel cover. Thank you Tarnia and Pub Charity!
